What are the bad things that might happen if you participate?
Sometimes things happen to people in research studies that make them feel bad. These are called “risks.” There are a few risks in this study. Sometimes, when people answer questions about themselves and their behaviors, they feel sad, upset, or anxious. You may also feel somewhat uncomfortable when answering questions about private behaviors, like your eating habits or feelings about yourself. Similarly, some people may find that the questions about eating and self-injury cause negative feelings or make them think about self-injury. For other people, they feel the same or better after answering these kinds of questions. It just depends on the person. Please report any problems to the researchers by email if you have any bad thoughts or feelings after participating.
